How to do an evening review of your routine
Take a few minutes to record what you planned, what you did and what needs adjusting. Distinguish unexpected events from choices you could have made differently. Finish with one small, concrete decision for tomorrow.
Which questions should I ask?
Start with three: what did I do today? What remains unfinished, and why? What will I adjust tomorrow? Use facts and examples rather than turning the review into judgments about yourself.
What should I do with unfinished tasks?
Decide whether they still make sense. Some need a new time; others need a smaller first step. You may also conclude that a task is no longer necessary and remove it from your plan.
How do I consider events outside my control?
Record the event and the response you chose. This helps separate the context from what you can still adjust in future decisions.
Does the review have to be long?
No. A short record may be enough to identify a useful adjustment. If the process feels too heavy, use fewer questions and return to a format you can maintain.
